Welcome and Introductions

On arriving at the Centre you will be introduced to the key members of staff and will be allocated a room which will be shared with some other participants. You will then be informed about the running of the centre, the weekend activities, the catering and will be able to ask any initial questions.

Equipment talk and check

On the first night after you arrive you will have a talk on equipment by the instructors who will be working with you when you take part in your activities. You will be told what equipment you will need for each activity and will be shown how to use any specialist and emergency equipment that you will be using. You will then be asked to pack the necessary equipment ready for the next days activities so that we can make a good early start. Whilst we are able to supply some equipment we will ask that our equipment notes are followed by Groups attending.

Weather/News Reports

When you arrive at the centre you will be allocated into teams of between four and six people. These teams will be the people you will work with throughout your course. On each morning a team or teams will be asked to give the whole course a weather report or update the other teams on local news items.

Activity Report Back

Once every team has arrived back from their days adventures each team will be asked to give a brief report on what they did and any exciting or funny things that happened to them.

Mountain Adventure

Spend half or a whole day discovering the mountains of North Wales and taking part in this rewarding activity with some of the best views on offer anywhere in Britain. Routes can vary depending on the skills of the teams but our favourites are our own Berwyn Ridge walk taking you to Pistyll Raeder waterfall (the highest in Wales) and along the Berwyn Mountain ridge to Cadair Berwyn and Cadair Bronwen or the Aran ridge which climbs to the fantastic views from Aran and then descends the rocky slopes to the breathtaking views along lake Bala.

Pioneering

The centre is equipped with a complete set of pioneering equipment and so this activity will challenge the teams to construct structures from towers to catapults. A great activity to put into practice those knots and lashings or to simply carrying out some teambuilding.
